Anne Hathaway to Guest Star on 'Glee'

(NewsCore) - Actress Anne Hathaway will guest star in an upcoming episode of hit TV musical “Glee,” Us Weekly reported Monday.

“Glee” executive producer Brad Falchuck confirmed Sunday night at the Golden Globe Awards that Hathaway would play the lesbian aunt of gay teen Kurt Hummel in the episode. Chris Colfer who plays Kurt, won a Golden Globe for best supporting actor at Sunday’s ceremony.

“It was [Hathaway’s] idea, and [with] someone like her, it's sort of hard to say no,” Falchuck said. "We don't generally get excited about guest stars just for the sake of guest stars, but when you have someone like Gwyneth [Paltrow] or Anne Hathaway, where you can say 'They are amazing,' ... they are big gifts to you."

Falchuck said Hathaway and her agents brokered her deal with “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy to appear on the show at the Golden Globes.

The actress, who will host the 83rd annual Academy Awards on Feb. 27, recently said that she had conceived a part for herself on “Glee.”

"That's so arrogant and obnoxious,” she said. “In my head, I've cast myself on ‘Glee’ and I know which song I would sing."
