(NewsCore) - David Arquette will guest star on Courteney Cox's comedy series "Cougar Town," a rep for the show confirmed Friday.
Cox, who separated from Arquette in October 2010, stars in the ABC show as a divorced woman in her forties, navigating her life as a single mother of a teenage son.
No details about Arquette's guest role were provided, but the actor tweeted to fans "I'm so excited ... can't wait!!!"
Cox, 47, jokingly responded, "I can't wait to work with you. You better not be late."
In real life, Cox and Arquette have remained amicable during their legal separation -- for the sake of their seven-year-old daughter Coco and for their business venture, Coquette Productions which produces "Cougar Town."
After their split, Arquette, 40, gained attention for his hard partying ways but he entered rehab in January 2011 and recently celebrated a full year of sobriety.
He is now dating "Entertainment Tonight" reporter Christina McLarty and told Howard Stern in November that he has no plans to reconcile with Cox now that he has found love.
The former "Friends" star married Arquette on June 12, 1999.
