(NewsCore) - Demi Moore has joined the cast of "Lovelace," the upcoming biopic about the late "Deep Throat" star Linda Lovelace.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Moore will play feminist activist Gloria Steinem, who strongly criticized pornography in her writing. Amanda Seyfried stars as porn actress Lovelace, whose role in 1972's "Deep Throat" helped to bring porn into the American mainstream.
Eric Roberts, Sharon Stone and Chris Noth are also signed on to appear in the film, and James Franco was reportedly in talks to portray Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, according to the New York Post.
"Lovelace" is one of two biopics in the works about the late actress, whose real name was Linda Boreman. Lindsay Lohan was set to play her in "Inferno," but she was reportedly fired from the film due to insurance problems stemming from her legal issues and replaced by "Watchmen" star Malin Akerman.
Lovelace later denounced her pornography career, claiming she had been forced into it by her husband, and became an anti-porn activist in the 1980s. She died in 2002 after suffering massive trauma in a car accident in Colorado.
