(NewsCore) - The hit TV musical "Glee" broke the record previously held by Elvis Presley for the most single entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, FOX announced Wednesday.
The high school comedy now has 113 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, exceeding the 108 from the "King of Rock and Roll," "Grandfather of Soul" James Brown's 91, Blues pianist Ray Charles' 74, the 73 from the "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin and the 71 from English rock band The Beatles.
Having covered hit tracks from chart-toppers including Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Madonna, the show's music releases have racked up more than 16 million song downloads since the show debuted in 2009.
"Glee" is broadcast on FOX Television which is owned by News Corp., the parent company of NewsCore and this site.
