(EndPlay Staff Reports) - Actor and Oscar-nominee James Franco is adding another accomplishment to his long list of exploits – author.
The New York Observer reported that the 33-year-old Yale graduate student is publishing a novel called "Actors Anonymous."
The Observer described it as "a fictionalized version of Mr. Franco's experiences as an actor."
Franco also took the less traditional route when it came to publishing, by his having his first novel published through Amazon.
The New York Daily News reported that Richard Abate of 3 Arts brokered the deal and the novel was acquired by the new fiction editor at Amazon, Ed Park. Actors Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan also used Abate to broker their book deals.
A source who knows about the deal told Just Jared, "The novel is very unique, navigating the peak of James' career. It combines memoir, poetry, and fiction in hilarious and unsettling ways."
Franco isn't the only celebrity to sign on with Amazon's publishing offshoot. The Huffington Post listed Penny Marshall and guru Deepak Chopra as others who have gone through Amazon for their book publishing.
This isn't the first time Franco has been an author. According to the Observer, the actor and one-time Oscar host wrote a book of short stories last summer entitled "Palo Alto." That book was published by Scribner.
The Daily News reported that the book of short stories didn't receive great reviews and on Amazon , only received three stars in the reviews.
A release date for "Actors Anonymous" hasn't been released yet, but in the meantime, Variety reports that Franco is set to play Hugh Hefner in the movie "Lovelace," and has recently wrapped up filming "Oz: The Great and Powerful," where he plays the great and mighty wizard.
