(NewsCore) - Journey drummer Deen Castronovo was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during an argument at a house in Oregon, TMZ reported.

Castronovo, who is the current touring drummer for the rock band, was booked into Polk County Jail, Dallas, Ore., on several charges including assault, criminal mischief, coercion, harassment and interfering with making a report, sources told the gossip site.

It is believed the rocker and his girlfriend were involved in a heated argument which turned physical Saturday.

Following the altercation, Castronovo's girlfriend ran out of the house to call her dad, but the drummer grabbed the phone from her and refused to let her ring him, the sources added.

He was released from jail after posting bail, which was set at $52,500

The drummer's rep said Castronovo believes the incident "was a misunderstanding that should not have been escalated to such a level in the first place."
