(EndPlay Staff Reports) - Actress Kristen Bell stopped by the "Ellen Degeneres Show" this week to discuss her new show "House of Lies," but also showed viewers, and Ellen, a video clip of her having a meltdown over a baby sloth.
A baby sloth ? Who could possibly have an emotional breakdown over the world's slowest mammal?
Apparently Bell can, and did, and is obsessed with the animal. So when her fiancé, Dax Shepard, decided to surprise her for her 31st birthday this past summer, it was just too much for the actress to handle.
Bell told Ellen that as soon as Shepard told her to hide herself so he could get her present ready, she immediately knew that it was a sloth.
"I immediately was overcome and I thought, 'There's a sloth near ... it's close, it's gonna happen.' And I didn't know how to process that, because my entire life had been waiting for this moment," Bell explained.
When Shepard entered their bedroom with a video camera to lead her to the "surprise," he found Bell in a fetal position crying and overcome with emotion.
Why the tears and intense reaction?
Bell tells Ellen that if she is not between a three and a seven on the "emotional scale," she is likely crying. She can't be too sad, and she can't be too happy.
Ellen showed a photo of Bell staring googly-eyed at her birthday sloth in a special habitat, and the actress joked, "I mean, I needed to be sedated, clearly."
Bell revealed her love of sloths earlier last month to The Insider .
"I Google Baby Sloths maybe 2-3 times a week. I've been obsessed with sloths for as long as I can remember. They must be my spirit animal or something. There's nothing cuter than a baby sloth. It doesn't exist in my opinion," Bell told the Insider.
