(EndPlay Staff Reports) - Love them or hate them, the rock band Nickelback is getting everyone's attention this week, and it's not because of their music.
The Canadian band, often the punch line of jokes, has decided to embrace their haters and naysayers and respond to their snarky remarks and insults on Twitter, Rolling Stone reported.
One tweeter wrote, "Was driving down the street, and a @Nickelback song came on. I had an aneurism and violently [expletive] myself at the same time. And my dog died."
The band, or whoever runs their official Twitter, responded with, "I bet it was the best day you've had in awhile. #yourwelcome."
Another insult that was tweeted , said, "@Nickelback retire."
"You're trying too hard. Get it together and make it count," was the band's response.
All of the back and forth banter is getting the attention of fellow rockers, too.
Former American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry tweeted to the band, "Your replies to the haters are killing me! Hilarious," reported Ultimate-Guitar.com .
Twitter isn't the only platform that Nickelback haters have used to make their disdain known.
Last fall, a petition made the rounds to stop the band from playing during the half-time show for the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game on Thanksgiving, according to Yahoo! . The petition received more than 50,000 signatures.
But it's not entirely hateful chatter going on their Twitter feed.
For the Nickelback supporters, the band has also taken to replying to them too by thanking them for support and informing them about tour dates.
