(EndPlay Staff Reports) - A video of Russell Brand removing his wedding ring back in November is making its way around the Internet, bringing further speculation to when his marriage to pop star Katy Perry really ended, and if the gesture was a foreshadowing of what eventually did happen.
The 36-year-old actor/comedian was in the middle of a comedy tour of college campuses across the United States when the video was recorded. Brand admits to not knowing much about the sorority/fraternity scene, but said that he was going to meet people from the social clubs, the Daily Mail reported.
Brand tells viewers that he believes it will be an "educational experience."
The video then shows the "Arthur" star removing his wedding ring, and telling the camera, "I'm just going to place this somewhere very, very safe for the next week." Brand then smiles at the camera a walks off.
At the time the video was made, in November, there were not any signs of their marriage being on the rocks, other than the tabloid speculation.
Perry even sent a Tweet out in support of her then husband's tour and asked fans to support him, People reported.
"My fowl (sic) mouthed Hubby @rustyrockets is playing a few mid-west/east-coast shows starting tonight onwards! SUPPORT!" Perry posted on Twitter .
The tour, titled "Keeping it Simple," was held on college campuses, including Eastern Michigan University and UMASS Amherst.
Brand officially filed for divorce from Perry on Dec. 30.
Perry recently made the announcement that she would not be attending the People's Choice Awards. It was scheduled to be her first public appearance since the divorce was announced.
