(EndPlay Staff Reports) - Filmmakers Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are promoting their new movie based on their Adult Swim series and have taken a stand against movie piracy – and they want you to, too. In fact, they're asking fans to sign an oath against it.
Though "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie," also known as B$M, won't hit cinemas until March, they've drummed up interest with their pledge on Facebook and YouTube .
The oath asks signers promise to see the film with "at least one (1) member of my family or a very close friend" in the cinema if it is playing within 50 miles of their home. If they signer is unable to see the film in the cinema, he or she pledges to view it via cable's on-demand films or download through iTunes.
The meat of the pledge, however, is the signer's pledge to "NEVER bit torrent (steal) B$M no matter what my friends may think." Signers also promise to report any friend to does bit torrent (steal) the film to authorities.
Additionally, pledgers agree to not see the upcoming film " The Lorax " because it "looks bad."
Celebrities are also getting on board with the B$M pledge, according to reports . Paul Rudd, Fred Armisen, Andy Samberg, Elijah Wood, Michael Ian Black, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Todd Barry and Chris Kattan have all agreed to the terms of the oath.
