(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - An Oregon comedian is preparing to make a grand exit as he is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

KMTR-TV reported that Aaron Jamison, of Springfield, who had previously worked at the TV station, has thousand of dollars in medical bills to pay. With three to nine months to live, he wants to make sure his wife isn't stuck with the bill.

To help pay for his cremation and funeral costs he is selling ad space on his cremation urn. The price starts at $100 and his goal is to at least make $800.

KATU-TV of Portland, Ore., reported that Jamison was diagnosed with an aggressive form of colon cancer. It has spread to his liver and lymph nodes.

One of the urns will go to his wife and the other to his parents.

Jamison's website "judas, forgiven" has updates on his story and a link for donations. His Twitter page is documenting the media attention his story. he also started the Aaron M. Jamison Pre-Memorial Foundation page on Facebook

While he is collecting disability, Jamison told KATU that it does not cover his monthly medical bills. He has a life insurance policy but said it's not much to leave to his wife.

His friend Dustin Remington, who owns a small restaurant chain called Terese's Place, was one of the first customers.

"He had so much concern for his wife and how she was gong to be able to handle this," he said to Katu.com. "It was just an opportunity I was happy to be a part of."

Jamison, a former graphics designer, will hand paint the ads and joked that if he sells 25 ads he'll buy two more urns.

"I'm a big guy," he said. "There'll be enough ashes around to fill them."
