(NewsCore) - A Florida man was fatally shot during an altercation with a neighbor over his barking dog, the Ocala Star-Banner reported Sunday.
A second man sustained minor injuries in the Saturday shooting, police in Ocala said.
Dan Daley, 60, went to the home of his 53-year-old neighbor Willie Chester at around 10:13am Saturday and asked Chester to control the dog barking in his yard, according to police.
The two got into an argument, with Chester reportedly becoming aggressive toward Daley. Daley, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Chester between four and six times.
Ocala Police Department officers responding to a report of shots fired found Chester and another man, who was not identified, suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where Chester died about an hour after he was admitted.
Daley was taken to the same hospital with minor facial injuries. He had not been arrested as of Sunday morning, police told WOFL-TV.
The weapon used in the shooting was recovered, but police have not revealed what kind of gun it was, according to the Star-Banner.
