(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - What happens when a competitive eater gets married? A wedding cake eating contest at the reception, of course.
Hall Hunt has eaten 63 Krystal burgers in eight minutes, but on his wedding day he couldn't beat his new wife in a cake-eating contest.
Jacksonville.com reported that when Hall and Emily Wright married on June 12, a wedding cake-eating contest seemed natural. Hall is currently the No. 9-ranked competitive eater in the world.
As an added draw, Joey Chestnut , winner of this year's Nathan's Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest, the No.1 eater in the world according to Major League Eating, and wedding guest, also took part in the contest. But he was no match for Emily either.
The three were allowed to use forks and water in the contest to see you could eat the most wedding cake as possible in 30 seconds.
In another nod the Hall hobby, three hundred Krystal burgers were served at the reception after the two were married at Good Samaritan Anglican Church in Middleburg, Fla.
According to wacktrap.com , Hunt is a civil engineer who brings in extra revenue related to his competitive eating pastime.
Emily had learned of Hall's competitive eating on their first date.
"It was just so interesting and fun to dive into something so different," Emily, 25, told Jacksonville.com .
