(NewsCore) - An Irish man received an early Christmas present Wednesday -- discovering that a 100-year-old letter to Santa found at a house in Dublin was written by his mother.
Victor Bartlem's mother, Hannah "Annie" Howard, wrote the letter before Christmas 1911, when she was 10 years old, the Irish Times reported.
The letter was later discovered in the chimney of a Dublin house during renovations in 1992 and the owner of the house, John Byrne, decided to publicize his find this year to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Bartlem, who lives in County Down, Northern Ireland, read about it and recognized his mother's name.
The letter included a good luck message to the man in the red suit, and went on to say, "I want a baby doll and a waterproof with a hood and a pair of gloves and a toffee apple and a gold penny and a silver sixpence and a long toffee."
