(NewsCore) - No buts about it, a New Zealand woman has come up with a novel way to raise money: Bid to have a permanent tattoo etched on her derriere.
The cheeky idea is the creation of 23-year-old Tina Beznec, who lost her job twice in the past year and has been unemployed for four months, according to the website stuff.co.nz.
Beznec -- who already has a series of tattoos, including a female pirate -- put her posterior panel up for auction on the website trademe.co.nz, akin to eBay, where by Thursday the bid was NZ$9,999.99 ($8,000) but still hadn't met the undisclosed reserve.
"Your tattoo on my bum!" trumpets the auction page, along with a list of suggestions as to why someone would want to buy a tattoo on a stranger's bottom -- including marriage proposal, business promotion and boredom.
There are several restrictions: the tattoo can't be larger than 3.5 by 3.5 inches (9cm by 9cm), will appear on only one side (winner can choose right or left) and will be done at a place of Beznec's choosing, probably on Feb. 4.
The lucky high bidder will get a framed photo of the final creation and if he or she lives near Beznec's home of Lower Hutt, some nine miles (15km) northeast of Wellington, they can even watch the procedure in person.
According to stuff.co.nz, Beznec plans to use part of the funds to visit her mother in Australia and also will give 20 percent to a charity of the winning bidder's choice.
"I'm constantly trying to thinking of creative things and ways you can make money," she said, "and I have never actually heard of it being done before."
