MYFOXNY.COM - Various technology websites including TechCrunch and CNET reported a data outage for some Verizon Wireless customers.
Based on questions and responses via Verizon's Wireless support Twitter account, data transmission has been disrupted across the country on 3G and 4G phones since Tuesday night.
Among the hardest hit areas are New York, California, Illinois, Washington D.C., New Jersey, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio, according to TechCrunch .
@VZWSupport has been fielding questions about the outage.
The problem appeared to have affected customers mostly on the 4G network.
"Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service is returning to normal," the company said in a statement. "Company engineers worked to resolve an issue with the 4G network during the early morning hours."
Earlier this month, Verizon customers experienced intermittent outages that took more than one day to fix.
