(Wall Street Journal) - Republican presidential contender Ron Paul again lashed out at the Transportation Security Administration, days after his son, Sen. Rand Paul of Tennessee, had a run-in with TSA screeners at Nashville International Airport.
The younger Paul refused a pat-down search after he had triggered an alarm at a security checkpoint, the TSA has said.
"You look at some of these pictures of probing groin areas and breast areas and all this, and old women have to take their clothes off," the elder Paul said on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday. "If we as a people are so complacent that we can look at that and say, 'It's OK -- it makes us safe,' it undermines our liberties."
Paul, a Texas congressman with a libertarian bent, said he favors turning airport security over to private companies.
