Tiger Woods Rallies at Frys.com Open

(NewsCore) - Tiger Woods managed to keep himself above the projected cut line Friday, shooting a three-under par second round 68 to get to one-under for the tournament at the Frys.com Open.

After a tough day on the greens left Woods two over and six shots off the pace Thursday, the former world number one fired back Friday to keep himself alive at CordeValle.

Despite the improvement, Woods remained seven shots off the lead after day two, with Englishman Paul Casey setting the pace at eight-under.

Woods returned to the course this week ranked outside the world's top 50 players for the first time in 15 years.

A series of injuries and a failure to rediscover his once dominant form after the breakdown of his marriage saw
him plummet to the previously unimaginable depth of 51 in the global list.

The 14-time major winner has not won a major since the 2008 US Open and is winless overall since the Australian Masters in Nov. 2009.
