With all of the online excitement about an Emma Watson photo shoot with a fake tattoo for  GQ, we thought we'd dig up this old profile on her from 2010.

Original article:

Emma Watson, Harry Potter's Hermoine, is all grown-up and ready to move beyond the franchise that has given the young actress great success.

During the London premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:" Part 1, 20-year-old Watson said, "I just hope that the second part of my life is as incredible as the first half. I'm more grown up and confident now. I'm ready to take more risks," The Mirror reported.

The actress is grateful for her time filming the movies, but right now is ready to concentrate on her studies at Brown University in Providence, R.I., where she is currently enrolled as a student. She's adamant about completing her education. After that, she doesn't know.

Watson has grown up a lot in the ten years the Potter films have been out, and as a statement to her new maturity, she chopped off her hair as soon as she had completed the last film.

The Mirror reported that she was contractually obligated not to cut her hair or tan during the filming of the franchise, and so when she had the chance, she changed her whole appearance to start the next chapter of her life.

"The moment I cut my hair I felt I became a woman. Now I'm ready to start taking risks," Watson said.

Real life isn't the only place that Watson is showing maturity. In Part I of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow," Watson films a scene where her character Hermoine gives Harry Potter a kiss while she is "topless," the MTV UK reported. Watson said she wore a strapless bra and was covered in silver paint for the scene, and describes the kiss as "full-on."

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter, said that Watson "really went for it" and was like "an animal," USA Today reported. Radcliffe wasn't complaining though.

Now that the filming of the Harry Potter films is over, it's hard to imagine anyone else playing Hermoine. MTV reported that back in 2006 when Watson's contract was up for renewal, there had been a strong possibility that she wouldn't continue.

Watson was committed to her studies back then, just as she is now at Brown, and filming was going to interfere with her exams. Fortunately for Watson, and fans alike, the studio worked it out so that she could stay on.

As for future film roles, Watson doesn't rule it out. The Mirror reported that she has been cast in the British film "My Week with Marilyn Monroe," and also has done an ad campaign for Burberry.
