Gang Member Wanted for Murdering Ubaldo Segaldo

An international manhunt is now underway for a suspected gunman believed to have killed a man in Chicago in 2006.

Not only is Daniel Lopez charged with murdering Ubaldo Salgado, but he's also wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Chicago Police were given information shortly after the murder that Lopez fled to Central Mexico, where he may still be hiding.

In 2008, police requested the help of the FBI in locating lopez, but so far there is no sign of him. The FBI and Chicago Police continue to investigate this through the Violent Crimes Task Force.

This FBI said this murder stemmed from a gang dispute in Chicago. It happened near the intersection of 56th and Rockwell. After an argument, police said Lopez shot Salgado and then took off.

Lopez still has family in the Chicago area. Because so much time has passed, perhaps he might feel comfortable enough to return to this area. And if anyone sees him, the FBI would like to know about it so they can get this dangerous individual off the streets.

He is described as:

  • Hispanic.
  • 24 years old.
  • He's about 5'9", about 125 pounds.
  • He has black hair and brown eyes.
  • He also uses the aliases Daniel Lopez Mendoza and Tica.
  • He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police.
