There's a new serial bank robber in town and the FBI wants your help tracking him down.
FBI agents gave the "Archer Avenue Bandit" this name after they say he robbed two different banks on this street in 2009.
They aslo belive he's responsible for robbing an Alsip bank, not once, but twice. Investigators say the Archer Avenue bandit rang in the New Year by knocking over the Charter One Bank on Pulaski near 120th Street on January 4th. They also say he robbed the same bank on January 9, 2009. That brings his total to four bank robberies.
The FBI's Bob Shields says, "All of these robberies have occurred in the cold weather which is another indicator he's going to wear clothing you cant see if he does have a gun or display a gun."
The clothing you should be on the look out for is an orange or red - colored construction vest and workman's gloves. Investigators believe the bandit may work near the banks he robs. Despite the suspect wearing eye glasses, agents say they are pushed down on his nose so you can still get a good look at his face. They also say the bandit appears very calm and moves very quickly.
Investigators also believe the Archer Avenue bandit is responsible for a fifth bank robbery. It happened in Crown Point - just two days before Christmas. Each time, he claims to have a gun.
Agents believe the Archer Avenue bandit is a black male, in his late 20's, about five feet ten inches tall, weighing around 175 pounds, with a thin to medium build. He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, call police.
