Judge Allows Murder Charges To Stand In Dunwoody Daycare Shooting

A judge has rejected several motions to dismiss charges against a man charged with murder in a killing outside a Dunwoody preschool.
DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Gregory Adams on Tuesday rejected arguments by defense attorneys for Hemy Neuman, who argued he was improperly indicted on murder charges. Prosecutors said the defense was grasping at straws.
Neuman is charged with the November 2010 shooting death of Russell Sneiderman, who was killed minutes after he dropped off his 2-year-old son at the preschool. He has pleaded not guilty, and a judge has set his trial date for Oct. 17.
A second motions hearing in the case is slated for Aug. 15 at 9 a.m. Prosecutors are expected to present their evidence in the case for the first time during the hearings.
