Precision Optical is a 52-year-old Orange County company that manufactures high-end optical prisms for the aerospace, defense and biomedical industries.

The Lambert family bought the company out of bankruptcy 30 years ago and turned the company around.

Precision Optical went from annual sales in 1981 of $800,000 to $15 million in 2010. The family, which includes owners Alan and Jan Lambert, and their sons Alan Jr. and Nicolaus, say they run the 70-employee company as one big family.
