Christine Devine is a veteran television news
anchor/reporter/producer. She anchors the weeknight newscasts on KTTV FOX 11 at
10pm and KCOP Channel 13 at 7 and 11pm. She has 16 Emmys, including the
prestigious Governors Award. In 2012, she was named by Los Angeles Magazine
among the "50 Women Changing LA."
Christine is well known as the Wednesday's Child
reporter, as an ASU Sun Devil, and Good News gal(co-chair of The Good News
Foundation). Her parents were both in the Peace Corps and then became
award-winning educators, and foster/adoptive parents. She credits them for her
concern for community, kids and current events.
While Christine has covered elections, the LA Riots,
earthquakes and the nation's top news, she is recognized as LA's host of
"Wednesday's Child." The adoption segment has aired on Fox for 18 years, with
more than 500 children from foster care finding forever families. She has been
honored by the U.S. Congress and the Child Welfare League of America. She
authored the book "Finding a Forever Family, A News Anchor's Notebook." She also
has written magazine articles on adoption.
Christine is a co-founder of The Good News Foundation.
GNF was created by the ladies of Los Angeles news to make a difference and
leave a legacy. GNF has built computer labs, a park, a library, etc. The Good News
Girls received "The Inspiration" award by AWRT, American Women in Radio and
Television and were honored as "Treasures of LA" by the Central City
Association.
She is a proud Sun Devil graduate from Arizona State
University and was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Walter Cronkite School
of Broadcast Journalism. Christine also sits on the Alumni Council. She was
Valedictorian of her high school and voted "Most Likely to Succeed."
In Hollywood, she has played a reporter on TV and in
film: Melrose Place, 90210, "24″, Prison Break, Wag the Dog, Independence Day,
Cable Guy, Most Wanted.
She was born in upstate New York, but grew up in Arizona.
Christine is engaged to musician/actor Sean McNabb(Quiet Riot, Dokken, A
Remarkable Life, Sons of Anarchy). Together, they are active in the community,
living by the theory, "to whom much is given, much is expected." They enjoy
fitness and good health, ride Harleys and have three dogs(one of them, Pips,
models in calendars and dog magazines).
Her latest passion is writing and producing hip hop
music. Under the artist name "Team Wednesday's Child" she has mentored an
artist named Jamal(Nexus). In May 2013, they released a tribute song to youth
titled "Faith in Truth" in honor of Foster Care Awareness Month.
Believing in being an active part of the community she
covers on the news, Christine is a frequent emcee and guest speaker. Among her
news and community honors: The Gracie Allen Award -American Women in Radio and
Television, the Anna Quindlen Award for philanthropy journalism-Society of
Professional Journalists, Best Anchor Team-Associated Press, Media Volunteer of
the Year Award -Volunteers of America, Lifetime Achievement-Chamber of
Commerce, "Angel in Adoption"-Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. An
active community supporter, she has been honored before the LA City Council, LA
County Board of Supervisors, by the Los Angeles Police Department and LA County
Sheriff's Department.
