Host, Good Day LA

Steve Edwards

One of L.A.'s best known, most recognizable television personalities, Steve Edwards hosts "Good Day LA", weekday mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on KTTV FOX 11. He's been the host since April 1995.

Steve has been a fixture on LA television, hosting such popular shows as KABC-TV's "AM Los Angeles" (1984-91), KCBS-TV's "Two On The Town" (1978-84) and "The Steve Edwards Show" (1978-81).  He also hosted the national version of "Good Day LA", "Good Day Live", from 2001-2005.

Steve has also had a high profile in local talk radio as host of "Sportstalk" on KABC, three-hour weeknight broadcast he began in 1994, and "The Steve Edwards Show" dealing with the issues and personalities of the day.

Among other television shows, Steve hosted the live afternoon talker "330" at KABC-TV in 1984 and ABC's nationally syndicated program "Hollywood Close-Up" in 1985.

Prior to KABC, Steve traveled the world while guiding the landmark show "Two On The Town" and "The Steve Edwards Show" for KCBS-TV, where he also served as Entertainment Editor.

While at CBS, Steve also co-hosted "Entertainment Tonight" and "Entertainment This Week" and garnered a national Emmy Award nomination as host.

He has received countless Los Angeles area Emmy awards for his work on various shows.

Before coming to Los Angeles, Steve worked in television first in Houston, then in Chicago where he was the host of several successful talk shows including "AM Chicago" and "Friday Night With Steve Edwards".

Steve began his broadcasting career at KTRH Radio, the CBS station in Houston.

Locally, Steve is actively involved with the Alzheimer's Association, the Center for the Partially Sighted, and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where he was named Chairman of LA Children's Festival at the hospital in 1994 for his continued efforts on their behalf.

A native of New York City, Steve graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in history and theater.  He also worked towards a master's degree in clinical psychology at the University of Houston, where he took a leave of absence for one semester to pursue his television career; he's still on that leave.
