Ed Laskos is one of the featured reporters on FOX 11's Studio 11 LA.
Before that, Laskos reported and filled in as anchor for the FOX 11 10 O'clock News and the KCOP My13 News at 11 o'clock.
Laskos' style has earned him several Emmy Awards and nominations. And once you watch, you'll know why. It's not what he's saying, but how he's saying it. Simply put; Laskos talks to the viewers, not at them.
Since he joined the FOX News team in the summer of 2000, Laskos has covered some of the biggest and most historic stories: the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, the national funeral of President Ronald Reagan in Washington, the earthquakes of the central coast, the Angels World Series Championship and the many other memorable events that shape the southland daily. Laskos always brings the viewers right into the story by letting them feel the sights and sounds of what's happening.
It's a style viewers have come to know from Laskos since he and television news have been together a long time. Laskos is approaching his three decades in a career of standing behind a camera and a mike.
From the blizzards of the Northeast to the hurricanes of the Gulf Coast... the twisters of tornado alley and space shuttle launches at the Cape to Presidential politics in the nation's capitol... Laskos has been there with a style all his own.
His accomplishments before KTTV range from covering breaking news on the streets of such fast-paced cities as Washington, Houston, Boston, Orlando and Providence.
Laskos grew up in coal country in Northeastern Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, he answered the call to broadcasting... first, in front of a radio microphone. The TV cameras followed soon afterwards.
When not tracking down new stories, Laskos proudly announces he enjoys cooking (preferably Italian), reading (usually biographies) and music (always Sinatra!).
