Marine Corporal Christopher Farias, who's based at Camp Pendleton, has been awarded the Navy Cross for 'Valor in Combat' while serving in Afghanistan.
Farias received the honor for saving the lives of at least 7 other marines who were seriously injured in a Taliban ambush on Cctober 5th, 2010.
Farias…who suffered a broken collar bone and concussion in the attack, continued to fire his rocket launcher and rifle at the enemy…even after being told to seek cover.
