Ask Dr. Oz season 3: post op #36

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Audience member JoAnn asks Dr. Oz if it's healthier to have stomach fat or subcutaneous abdominal fat.

Dr. Oz responds that it's much better-off to have subcutaneous fat and explains that it's a way for your body to store calories for getting them used later on.

Dr. Oz further notes that the deep belly fat, the fat around your intestinal organs is very different. Dr. Oz explains that deep belly fat strangles the kidneys, jacks-up blood pressure, and poisons the liver, which in-turn makes bad cholesterol, and blocks the ability of insulin to work so you get diabetes.
