Siblings Ana and Brandon: Spending Time At The Aquarium

Playing UNO may be their favorite past time, but this week's Wednesday's Child presents quite a pair! Meet Ana and Brandon, a sister and brother who may not be the closest in chronological age but who share a special bond. Both Ana and Brandon are very inquisitive and for their special day, we took them to The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California for a private meet and greet with some of the Aquarium's special attractions. In additional
to learning all about sharks and sea turtles, our duo also got a special "meet and greet" with Lola the talking cockatiel!

Ana (1998) is an affectionate and caring child who likes board games such as monopoly and card games like UNO. She can be gregarious and engaging and enjoys spending time in social settings with other people. Like many girls, Ana enjoys doing her nails and hair. She is a "Hello Kitty" kind of girl and really likes bright colors. Ana is diagnosed with Mild Mental Retardation but is making great progress and learning new things every day. She is accessing services that help her with life skills such as counting money and preparing herself to be as self-sufficient as possible.

Brandon (2005) is an active and interactive little boy who loves spending time with his older sister. He is inquisitive and always wondering how things work. He loves to play UNO with his sister; in fact, he loves this game so much that he has been know to say "Uno" in his sleep! Much of his play activities involve his sister Ana, so they are very close. While Ana is his big sister, Brandon is developing and maturing and at times takes the lead in teaching Ana new things. It's clear that both children are accustomed to looking out for one another, so we are looking for a family that can assume some of the "looking out for" responsibilities and let these two siblings grow up together and spend more time just being kids. Ana and Brandon will need nurturing and support as they develop at their own pace and capacity while being able to remain close as two peas in a pod!
