Tarrell: Enjoys Quiet Activities As Much As Physical Ones

Quiet, thoughtful and sincere are adjectives often used to describe this week's Wednesday Child. Tarrell (1995) is a teen who enjoys both quiet activities such as watching TV as well as physical activities such as playing baseball and interactive video games. Tarrell enjoys attending sporting events of any kind, so we decided to give him a bird's eye view into all that is an Anaheim Ducks Hockey game.

Along with the anticipated meet and greet with the Anaheim Ducks Team Captain, # 7 Ryan Getzlaf, Tarrell ended up inside the control booth at the Honda Center and worked with the rest of the "team" – the ones responsible for putting the show on ... on the big-screens, on the speakers, etc. And it turned out that directing such operations was something that also grabbed Tarrell's interest.

Like most kids in foster care, especially those who have been in the system for a while, Tarrell is no stranger to disappointments and sadness. Despite his difficult past, Tarrell is genuine and is well-liked by just about everyone who meets him. Tarrell doesn't have unrealistic or fantastical ideas about what a forever family should be. He simply wants a family who would
love and accept him – recognizing unconditional love as the core of what
is true family. For an evening Tarrell was part of the Honda Center/Anaheim Duck's family and saw a myriad of players – both on the ice and in the control booth – carry out a variety of roles to put on the whole show that is an Anaheim Ducks game. Tarrell learned that a sporting event is more than just a competition between two teams and that it takes a bigger lineup working together to put on such an event. By nature teenagers are often trying to get a grasp on autonomy, but Tarrell has what it takes to take on a fitting role within a forever family unit.
