Santa Ana police say a woman in a car hit
three pedestrians, killing a young girl and critically injuring a woman
and another young girl.
Police Cmdr. Tammi Franks
says the woman driving a sedan was taken into custody a short distance
away Saturday on suspicion of hit & run.
Franks says the girl who
was killed was about five years old and the girl who was injured is
about six. She did not have an estimated age for the woman or know her
relationship to the girls.
The injured victims were being treated at a hospital.
It is not clear whether they were in a crosswalk.
