Roy Firestone Talks Baseball Hall Of Famer - Jim Palmer

Posted: Updated:

Roy Firestone is here.

It's all star week in baseball, and it's a big week for 6 time all star and hall of fame baseball player Jim Palmer...

Some of you might remember jim as the spokesperson for jockey underwear. Baseball fans know him as a 3 time world champion And three time Cy Young award winning pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles...

This week palmer is putting all his most coveted trophies including his remaining Cy Young awards and his Gold Glove Awards up for auction at the hunt auctions in Kansas city…is it because he's broke?

No. Its because he says his priorities in life have changed...

Jim is hoping that the trophies could generate 200 thousand dollars or more -some of which will go towards his grandchildren's education, and some of which will go to causes that support autistic children.

1 in 80 boys in America are autistic. His stepson, a teenager will also do something remarkable and inspiring later this week..he will introduce his step dad in Baltimore when Jim gets a statue at the Orioles Camden yards stadium on Saturday...

Its not unprecedented..but somewhat rare to put major sports achievement items up for sale:

Ted Williams estate auctioned by the Hunt auction went for nearly 4 million...

The late Thurman Munson's family couldn't afford scholarships for his children so they gladly sold all his championship rings...
