PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. -

Lightning injured several people at Falcon Field in Peachtree City on Tuesday.

A lightning bolt struck the end of the runway outside Gardner Aviation Services. Jackie Black was working on an airplane inside the hanger.

"It was just like a static shock to your body. It would be like if you was sleeping on your hands and your hands went to sleep -- it just tingled," said Black.

Karl Gardner said the storm came suddenly. He said that he saw a pilot scrambling to get inside as the lightning hit.

"Came in and said his arm was hurting, he had felt the current go through his body," said Gardener.  "It hurt him is all it did."

In another incident last week in Peachtree City, a fisherman was killed and a friend injured when a pop up thunderstorm hit at Lake Peachtree. Burnette Hayes, 52, was standing under a pine tree when lightning struck it Friday night.  He was killed and the other man was knocked unconscious.
