BUILDING HIGH PRESSURE
High pressure at the surface and aloft will begin to build over the Southwest today in the wake of the weak upper-level low that moved through yesterday. The surface flow will start to trend offshore and the air mass will begin to warm. This should produce a very nice, mostly sunny, dry and milder day. We could still see some patchy low clouds and fog this morning. A MAJOR warm-up is still on the way for the weekend with record heat possible (90s). Strong high pressure in the upper atmosphere will set up over a region with an offshore low-level flow...Click on this morning's satellite image to the left..
