A Superior Court judge ruled in favor of Adelanto parents, who exercised their right under California's "Parent Trigger" law to petition to demand changes at Desert Trails Elementary School, which has been in the bottom ten percent of the state for more than six years.
Parent Revolution, the activist group that worked to get the "Parent Trigger" law passed in California, says this ruling has national implications.
According to state records for the Desert Trails school, 72% of sixth-graders were not at grade level in reading and 70% were not proficient in math.
