(CNS) Customers were met with longer-than-usual lines and delays at Department of Motor Vehicles offices in the Southland and across the state today thanks to a computer outage that left clerks processing transactions by hand.
The DMV announced the problem around 9 a.m. on its Twitter page, posting "DMV is currently experiencing technical difficulties that may affect customer transactions. We appreciate your patience.''
The outage lasted until shortly after noon, when the agency announced that services had been restored.
DMV's website remained operable during the outage, and the agency encouraged customers to do what business they could online instead of visiting a DMV office.
