Joshua Smith sold lemonade this summer to raise money to help get the grass cut at a Detroit park. Wednesday, there was a special surprise for the little boy with big dreams of making his city a better place to live.

A New Jersey tree farmer was so touched by Smith's big heart he delivered the boy a big gift all the way from the Garden State.

"I figured I'd bring a big tree for him and put it in the park and plant flowers and do a little monument for him," said Marty Wojcik.

"I think it's really great," said Smith.

Wojcik with High Ridge Farms spent the morning planting a massive black maple tree in Russell Woods Park. It is the same park for which Smith raised money to help maintain the green space because the City of Detroit is running low on funds.

The tree farmer made the eleven hour drive to plant roots in a community, a tree to serve as a reminder there is beauty when we choose to give.

"If more young kids did what Joshua did, this country would be a great place again," Wojcik said.
