
The Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 8th Annual Taste of Southfield, Tuesday, October 2nd from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the 2000 Town Center Atrium.
The Taste of Southfield is a strolling buffet that showcases the diversity of the city's food and dining community with dishes prepared by the area's top chefs and culinary artists. The event will also include a special reception and live entertainment along with the eclectic array of edibles.
Tickets to the event are $15 per person. Event proceeds will benefit the Chamber and its outreach programs that help to empower local businesses and entrepreneurs. Additional proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County.

Pizzeria Biga: Veal and Artichoke Ragu
ground veal
minced garlic-3 cloves
chile flake -1/4 tsp.
olive oil- 1/3 cup
minced onion-1/2 cup
minced carrot-1/2 cup
minced celery-1/2 cup
chopped fresh sage-1 Tbs
bay leaves -2
white wine-1/2 cup
chicken stock-1 1/2 cup
artichoke hearts - 14oz. can chopped
chopped parsley -1/4 cup
salt-1 tsp.
pepper-1/2 tsp.
Toast garlic and chili in olive oil slowly. Add mirepooix, sage, and bay leaves - sweat. Add veal, salt and pep and cook through. Add wine and stock and cook lid open 20- 30 minutes. Add artichoke and simmer 20 minutes. Add parsley and turn off.
