CARROLLTON, Ga. -

Firefighters battled a two alarm fire at a flea market in Carrollton early Sunday morning.

It happened at the West Georgia Flea Market located in the 3900 block of North Georgia Highway 27. A fire broke out just after 5 a.m. Sunday. It was called in by passing motorists.

Fire crews at the scene told FOX 5 News that they had to strike a second alarm to help fight the fire at the popular outdoor market.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control within a few hours, but the rubble was still smoldering well into the day. They say they were able to save about 80 percent of the complex.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
