As breast cancer awareness month concludes, Dr. Maureen Chung, M.D., PhD, FACS, from The John Wayne Cancer Institute at St. John's was here with the latest information on breast-cancer vaccines, the contemporary management of breast cancer and the impact of mammographic screening on breast- cancer presentation, treatment and outcome.
A leader in the field of surgical oncology, Dr. Chung's current research focuses on the role of a specific protein produced in breast cancer cells that can inhibit the effectiveness of chemotherapy.
