Did you see a lot of pink this month? That's because every October all kinds of products sport a pink ribbon to bring attention to breast cancer. All that attention means more women than ever are getting mammograms.
For women over 50, there's little dispute that breast cancer screening saves lives. But the Journal Lancet reports this week there's a cost: For every life saved because of a mammogram, three women undergo unnecessary breast cancer treatment.
