Incumbent Congressman Dan Lungren, a Republican, is taking on Ami Bera in the 7th Congressional District, which includes Elk Grove and Northern California.
Lungren has been in the House of Representatives since 2004. Before this election, he represented the 3rd Congressional District. But due to redistricting, he is now running in the 7th.
Bera. a doctor, has been an Associate Dean for Admissions at the University of California-Davis School of Medicine and a former Chief Medical Officer for the County of Sacramento.
