Los Angeles, CA -
(CNS) A proposal to place a half-cent sales tax increase for Los Angeles on the March ballot is expected to receive final approval next Tuesday from the City Council. The council voted 10-4 yesterday to give initial approval to put the measure on the ballot.
Both of the council members running for mayor...Eric Garcetti and Jan Perry...voted no. The tax is expected to generate between 208 million and 215 million dollars per year to help close the city's
budget deficit.
