Santa Ana Woman Found Stabbed To Death In Alley

Posted: Updated:

SANTA ANA (CNS) - An investigation was under way today into the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old woman whose body was found in an alley in Santa Ana.

Maria Cerrillo of Santa Ana was found dead of multiple stab wounds about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of North Laurel Street, said Cpl. Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department. She had been stabbed in the upper torso, Santa Ana police Cmdr. Steve Colon said.

Investigators were unsure of a motive for the crime, or why Cerrillo -- who lived in a different part of Santa Ana -- was in the alley, Bertagna said.

Santa Ana police have named a person of interest in the fatal stabbing. They want to question Luis Antonio Garcia Morales, who investigators suspect may have gone to Mexico.
