New man's name emerges in Andrea Sneiderman case - Los Angeles Local News, Weather, and Traffic

DeKalb prosecutors want to talk with a man they say may be living with Andrea Sneiderman. Defense attorneys describe Joseph Dell as a close friend who has given invaluable support to Sneiderman since her husband's murder.

Dell's name emerged on the record on Friday during a court hearing.

Prosecutors told a judge Joseph Dell's name has come up as they continue to investigate the 2010 killing of Sneiderman's husband Rusty.

A jury found Hemy Neuman guilty but mentally ill of fatally shooting Rusty outside a Dunwoody daycare center in November 2010.

Prosecutors say they now want to call Dell to the stand.

"We believe it credible that Mr. Dell left his wife six months pregnant, about six and a half months after the murder of Rusty, and at that time openly took up a relationship with the defendant," said DeKalb County prosecutor Don Geary. "I believe they live in the same residence."

Defense attorneys say Sneiderman and Dell are close friends. They even conceded that Dell picks up Andrea' young children from school since she is confined to the house. But defense attorneys say talk of anything more is nonsense.

"The civil attorney in this case have set forth a theory which is, I would categorize as somewhat fanciful, about how Ms. Sneiderman has craftily manipulated one person into killing her husband, with the expectation not that she would wind up with that individual, but that she would wind up yet with another individual," said defense attorney Tom Clegg.

But prosecutors say Neuman may have been used.

"Given that Mr. Neuman claimed, not that he didn't commit the murder -- that was clear -- but he did so being manipulated by this defendant…and evidence is starting to come up that might show that it was not for Mr. Neuman to be with the defendant, but for someone else. Mr. Dell might be that someone else," said Geary.

If Dell becomes a witness in this case, Andrea Sneiderman would be barred from contact with him. The defense made it clear on Friday that they don't want that to happen. A judge said that a ruling will be made very soon.
