Phoenix Police have arrested a drug suspect after a chase through city streets Tuesday morning. The pursuit came to an end near 43rd Avenue and Van Buren, where officers say the young man behind the wheel of a red jeep clipped a power line cable and backed into a patrol car.
He then ended up behind an apartment complex.
"The vehicle window was broken by our officers, the suspect was taken out of the vehicle and I understand has sustained a laceration to his head or face," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump.
Officers first made contact with the man near Roosevelt and 43rd Avenue, where police got a tip he had been there the past few mornings -- possibly buying or selling marijuana.
The chase started after he drove off. He'll be booked on counts including aggravated assault.
