Gas Prices Continue To Drop In Southern California

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased today for the 45th consecutive day, falling a half-cent to $3.812, its lowest amount since July 23.

The average price has decreased 89.3 cents over the past 45 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Thursday, after rising 50.4 cents over the previous seven days and reaching a record high of $4.705 on Oct. 9, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 4.4 cents less than one week ago and 62.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 5.5 cents more than one year ago.

The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 57-day streak that ended July 13.

The Orange County average price decreased today for the 46th consecutive day, falling four-tenths of a cent to $3.772, its lowest amount since July 21.

The Orange County average price has decreased 91.8 cents over the past 46 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Thursday, after rising 51.3 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.69 on Oct. 8.

The Orange County average price is 4 cents less than one week ago and 64.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 3.5 cents more than one year ago.
