It's the season of giving and one valley family did just that after winning a big prize.

It was a stroke of good luck for Daniel Taube this holiday season when he won an $1,000 gift card to Albertson's.

The father of three says the gift card changed his life, not because he spent it, but because he decided to pay it forward.

"There's a lot of people struggling to find next meal, me and my wife are working right now, fortunate to not have to struggle like that and able to put food on the table," said Taube.

With the $1,000, Taube contacted the Cardinals and the football franchise matched his dollar amount along with Knight Transportation and the Albertson's at Desert Ridge.

"They all matched my $1,000 donation and made it a $4000 donation," said Taube.

Taube and his family donated the money to the St. Mary's Food Bank.

"I have three girls, I wanted to explain one person can do some good. A small simple gesture can go a long ways and can reach out and touch a lot of families," said Taube.

They helped feed dozens of families this Thanksgiving by generating enough money to serve 7,500 meals.

"We were very proud and glad to be apart of that," said Taube.
