PHOENIX -
A two-month closure of Olive Avenue between Cotton Lane and Sarival Avenue starts Monday
morning, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The construction is par of an ongoing project to improve Loop 303 into a six-lane freeway in the West Valley.
Olive Avenue will be closed until late January but drivers are able to use Peoria or Northern Avenues as alternate routes. Access to businesses in the area will continue.
The $65 million project hopes to modernize Loop 303 between Glendale and Peoria Avenues. ADOT aims to expand Loop 303 to six lanes between Interstate 10 and Grand Avenue by fall 2014.
