Los Angeles, CA -
It appears a small group of LA Charter schools may cross the finish line to win a multi-million dollar "Race To The Top" federal grant.
However, for the The Los Angeles Unifed School District (LAUSD) ...they may miss out on $40 million of free federal money. Why you ask? According to sources including superentendent John Deasy, it's because the teachers union declined to even sign the district's grant application.
Gigi Graciette is live outside...LAUSD headquarters with more.
